other notable obelisks we may come across include: place de la concorde, in Paris http://www.pmmh.espci.fr/workshop/concordb.jpg
This one, in St Petersburg http://www.enlight.ru/camera/rem130/jul28_4648.jpg (to me, looks much nicer for picnics)
This one here (second only to the Europe/asia one in terms of cruddiness) http://www.geocities.com/humehwy31/b73.jpg
and this one in NZ at one tree hill. http://tinyurl.com/3mmo6 (nicest of all for picnics, and naps, and maybe some sort of kite flying, I'd imagine, if I were daydreaming about travelling rather than faking more of these photographs: http://bumblingthesis.blogspot.com)

how can you be hyped up about that obelisk sammy - really, it's not much to look at! it's a good word though.
but we could go down the phoenix park and have a picnic in the shadow of the obelisk there!
gotta say, hyped about most things, but this obelisk, not so much :)
how about the grove behind it - it looks like a nicer picnic spot altogether.
true, true. although to be honest, the whole place looks a bit scrotey.
See, to me, this is a nicer obelisk:
